In this episode of the More Movies Podcast, Greg and Dave discuss all of the 2022 movies they have been watching over the past 5 months. We have selected 20 movies from the second half of 2022 that we discuss, both good and bad including Top Gun: Maverick (2022), the highly anticipated sequel to the 1986 classic. This film sees Tom Cruise returning as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, now a flight instructor for the next generation of Top Gun pilots. We also talk about Prey (2022), another film that has received a lot of attention in recent months.
Some other films we take some time to chat about include The Forgiven (2022), a psychological thriller that explores the dark side of human nature, Nope (2022), Jordan Peterson’s latest horror film that has been making waves in the genre and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that follows Thor as he teams up with his former ally and current rival, the Mighty Thor, to stop an all-powerful new enemy.
We also talk about The Phantom of the Open (2021), Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022), Confess, Fletch (2022), Do Revenge (2022), Blonde (2022), Bullet Train (2022), Emily the Criminal (2022), Hellraiser (2022), Halloween Ends (2022), Don’t Worry Darling (2022), Speak No Evil (2022), Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022), Amsterdam (2022) and Tar (2022). At the very end, we’ll let you know what film we think is the best movie of the year.
