In this episode of the More Movies Podcast, Greg and Dave talk about the latest film by Martin McDonagh The Banshees of Inisherin (2022) in detail (so consider this a SPOILER ALERT!) and also discuss the recent Oscar nominations in the run up to the 95th Academy Awards.
The Banshees of Inisherin stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson on a remote island off the coast of Ireland, Pádraic (Farrell) is devastated when his buddy Colm (Gleeson) suddenly puts an end to their lifelong friendship. With help from his sister and a troubled young islander, Pádraic sets out to repair the damaged relationship by any means necessary. However, as Colm’s resolve only strengthens, he soon delivers an ultimatum that leads to shocking consequences.
The 95th Academy Awards will be presented on March 12, 2023, in a ceremony held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The awards will honor films released in 2022 such as Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022), The Whale (2022), All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) and The Banshees of Inisherin (2022).
