In this episode of More Movies Weekly, Greg and Dave discuss Cry Macho (2021), the latest directed by and starring Clint Eastwood alongside Dwight Yoakam, Eduardo Minett, Natalia Traven, Fernanda Urrejola and Horacio Garcia Rojas. A neo-Western drama, Cry Macho tells the story of a one-time rodeo star and washed-up horse breeder who takes a job to bring a man’s young son home and away from his alcoholic mom.
During the drive, the pair share stories about their lives, including how Leta’s henchmen used to abuse Rafo and discuss the meaning of being “macho.” They meet friends and find love in a buddy road movie reminiscent of Clint’s prior work, and on their journey, the horseman finds redemption by teaching the boy what it means to be a good man.
To celebrate the work of the iconic Clint Eastwood, Greg and Dave give a unique statistical rundown of his legendary career as well as sitting down and picking their Top 5 Clint movies. We also take a look at some of the leaked pictures that have been released from the filming of the new Wonka (2023), starring Timothée Chalamet as the titular character. The photos have become a bit of a meme online, and so we have a look and a laugh at some of the funny replies people have come up with.
