Guillermo del Toro‘s latest epic adaptaion of the classic horror novel Frankenstein (2025). Originally written by Mary Shelley in 1818, this tale about a man obsessed with cheating death has been brought to the big screen many times, so how does this one measure up to past iterations? Starring Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Charles Dance and Jacob Elordi, this brand new Netflix production is a sight to behold.
Two movies that assaulted the silver screen in 2025 were politcally-charged thriller One Battle After Another (2025) directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and Eddington (2025) directed by Ari Aster. Although nothing alike in terms of their stories, these two movies are linked in other subtextual ways and our intrepid More Movies men draw some parallels between the films whilst noting how they differ.
In terms of comedy, this episode dives into The Naked Gun (2025) movie starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. A continuation of the original franchise, the latest installment follows Frank Drebin Jr on his madcap missions to rid the streets of the criminal element while simultaneously drinking enough coffee to sink a battle ship. There is also mockumentary sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (2025) directed by the late, great Rob Reiner who also stars in the movie alongside original cast members Michael McKean, Harry Shearer and Christopher Guest.
As if that wasn’t enough to satisfy your eyes and ears, there is also conversations about The Phoenician Scheme (2025) from Wes Anderson, The Long Walk (2025) which was adapted from a Stephen King story, a documentary about comedy legend John Candy, horror movie Weapons (2025), Kathryn Bigelow‘s A House of Dynamite (2025) and British drama film Anemone (2025) which sees Daniel Day-Lewis come out of retirement to collaborate with his son Ronan Day-Lewis
