In this Halloween Horror episode of the More Movies Podcast, Greg and Dave discuss the movies Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024) and the original 1988 movie, The First Omen (2024) a prequel to the 1976 horror classic, Apartment 7A (2024) – a prequel to Rosemary’s Baby (1968) and ‘Salem’s Lot (2024) the new version of Stephen King’s classic horror novel.
Filmmaker Tim Burton returns with his comedy horror character Beetlejuice, played by Michael Keaton, for another fun-packed, strange and unusual movie which also sees the return Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara. THey are joined by newcomers (to this franchise) Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci and a favourite of ours here at More Movies, Willem Dafoe.

The First Omen and Apartment 7A both share a very similar theme. These two horror movies are also linked in that they are both prequels. We discuss the relevance of these two movies in light of the overturning of the Roe vs Wade laws in the United States.
Stephen King is a giant in the world of horror literature and the latest adaptation of one of his works, ‘Salem’s Lot gives a new spin on this classic vampire story. We compare it to the original TV miniseries from the 70s and discuss the influences that have moulded the new version.
