In this episode of the More Movies Weekly podcast, Greg and Dave discuss The Batman (2022), the new superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman alongside Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.
Batman ventures into Gotham City’s underworld when a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans become clear, he must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the metropolis.
They also talk about the recent controversial comments by Sam Elliott regarding The Power of the Dog (2021) along with the film’s director Jane Campion’s response. There is also a discussion around the record of the most profanities used on the big screen, with Samuel L. Jackson, of course, part of that conversation!
